Why I want to be a Teacher

There is something special about children. They open my heart in so many different ways. They are so innocent and sweet and just have the kindest soul. I have known since the age of 7 that I wanted to be a teacher. I think that when I was 7, I wanted to be a teacher because I liked the idea of being the boss and being in charge. Though it may have been for a strange reason, I knew that is what I wanted to do. With time, my desire to become a teacher grew and grew. I realized why I actually wanted to become an elementary school teacher. I want to be there for the children, I want to be a steady rock in their life if there isn't one at home. I want to be a positive influence on them. I want to be able to teach them and help them to grow intellectually and also as a little person. I want to show them that learning can be fun and is important in life. I hope to show them love and be a role model for them to follow. I know that school for me when I was little school so much fun and I loved to learn. I want to do that for at least one little girl or boy. I want the classroom to be a safe heaven for them so they feel like they have a home. If their family life is a mess, I want to show them that life is still beautiful. There is always somewhere else they can go to feel that love and joy.

I know that this isn't the best paying job, but I don't care. It is a passion of mine. I love being able to teach and explain a concept to another person that I already understand. It is the best feeling ever when I can help someone to have that little light switch go off in their head when something finally clicks. It makes me feel so great. I know that teaching is a what I want to do. I have the deepest love and appreciation for little kids and their sweet spirits. AHHH I just love them! Well there it is, the real and true reasons I want to be a teacher. :)
